About

Like so many others, this blog began as an assignment during my MLIS and has evolved from there. I’ve worked at six different libraries in Ontario, four of them as a librarian, performing roles such as collection development, programming, displays, reader’s advisory, reference, and outreach.

Whether you’re here for book recommendations, discussions on library programming, library display ideas, or to peruse my online portfolio: welcome! I hope you find what you’re looking for. Feel very free to leave comments, or contact me if you want to discuss anything library related (or just tell me about an amazing book!) – I love connecting with new people.

Imagine how much more libraries could do if we shared resources more often. I’ve made it a priority to share my projects, tips, and reflections with other librarians, which is why you’ll find so many free downloadable resources on my blog. All I ask is that you don’t claim the work as your own, you refer any interested parties to my blog, and you send me photos if you do something totally awesome with it!

On a personal note – hey! I’m Karissa. I love to read, write, play video games, play softball, hike with my rescue dog, and drink overly fancy coffee. If you see me at a library conference, say hi!
