Unicorn Magic Party

I’ve decided to rebrand my all ages evening storytimes into themed party events. We still do the same things: songs, 2 – 3 picture books, 1 or 2 crafts, and freeze dance. New job, new glasses! Do I look librarian enough? 🤓 #librarianwardrobe #librarylife #librariansofinstagram #librarystyle
It's been a strange week. Due to bereavement leave I won't be returning for my final week of work. I didn't even realize that my last day was my last day. Any teacher or children's librarian knows that leaving a job is so much more than that. I'm leaving my influence on hundreds of kids behind. There are kids who visit me every week for piles of personalized book recommendations. There are kids who visit every single day after school to chat. There are teens who know the library is a safe place, and start their visits by checking in with me. Dozens of kids begged me not to leave. It's a comfort to know that I will be moving on to improve another library. I will build new relationships, and make the library a safe place for new kids. My influence on Fort Erie will remain, and I will work on spreading kindness and a love of reading to a new community.
There are some big changes coming up soon in my career 😀, but tonight is Stuffie Sleepover. One of my favourite days of each month. And we're doing an extra special craft: glow in the dark Galaxy Jars 🌌 🌟 ✨
One of my favourite new read aloud picture books! So cute and fun to read. Lots of rhythm and rhyming. #fiveflyingpenguins #picturebook #readaloud #storytime #kidlit #kidsbooks #librarylife #librariansofinstagram
🐶 Super easy puppy craft 🐶 I had a crowd of little ones making these Puppy Puppets at our Puppy Pals Storytime this week! Add in a Paw Patrol Scavenger Hunt and puppy themed dance party, and you've got a solid program! When "Who Let the Dogs Out" came on during freeze dance, the crowd went wiiiiild. #kidscraft #preschoolcraft #craft #puppy #puppet #storytime #publiclibrary #librariesofinstagram #librarylife #childrenslibrarian #librariansofinstagram #librarians
