Star Wars Opening Crawl Library Display

Star Wars Crawl Library Display

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

An Ontarian Librarian was struck with the sudden inspiration to make a display that perfectly mimics the opening crawl of Star Wars. Down to the very last font.

At first I considered writing the text in Word, and applying a perspective affect to make it look like the crawl. But that’s a lot of work for something that only looks a little bit like the opening crawl.

Thankfully I discovered a way better tool for recreating opening crawl text. I inputted my text into Star Wars Crawl Creator. During the preview, I snapped a screenshot of the text, saved it as an image, and printed it out extra large. So sneaky. So effective.

I used the crawl text to promote our upcoming Teen Star Wars party – it could also be used as a book review, as a way to draw attention to the many Star Wars items available for borrow, or just a silly jumble of Star Wars nerdery. As long as it looks like the opening crawl, people will love it.

I printed out the “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…” text and the Star Wars logo to complete the look. If only I could play the opening song…
